A 3-day in-person workshop to help missionaries and ministry leaders like you grow your donor base, raise more support, and get fully funded for 2020 and beyond.
A recent study by the Larramore Christian Foundation showed that nearly 5,000 missionaries leave the field every year unnecessarily because of the lack of personal and financial hardship.
We believe part of the reason is because support training that has been taught in the past relies too heavily on tactics that put missionaries in a "feast or famine" mode.
Consistent funding requires a shift away from old habits. The old way of raising support means uncomfortable face-to-face meetings, paper newsletters, tons of phone calls, or speaking at churches and hoping people give.
But chasing donations and hoping one-time donors become monthly supporters is stressful and unpredictable. It's also quickly becoming outdated because of the way people communicate.
You love Jesus. You have an assignment right now to reach a certain city, region, or people group. It's a worthy calling, and we want to equip you with a few simple skills and strategies that could make all the difference for you, your ministry, and the people you serve.
First, both of us work every single day in fundraising (Mary) and marketing (Mike). We have a broad perspective on what's working on both fronts, and our skills complement each other –– kind of like peanut butter and jelly.
We've worked with non-profits like the American Cancer Society and Special Olympics, with ministries like Catalyst and People Of The Second Chance, and Christian business leaders like John Maxwell and Donald Miller.
Second, the framework, skills, and strategies we teach you are Biblical in that we believe in building relationships with people, not just hitting them up for money when times are desperate.
We believe in treating people (including potential supporters) the way God would treat them: with dignity, love, respect, and gratitude. Too many support-raising trainings just teach missionaries to "pound the pavement" and push aggressively for support.
Third, we consider ourselves to be "skill-builders" –– meaning the things you'll learn at this live training are skills you'll be able to carry with you for the rest of your time in ministry. Raising support is a skill, and the good news is that skills can be learned.
Finally, the things we teach are going to be widely applicable. We've worked with missionaries serving in closed nations, and with local ministries like church plants and campus outreach –– and helped all of them raise more money.
This workshop is a mix of presentation, application, and implementation. You will work! We recommend you fly in to St. Louis on April 1st so you can have a full day to acclimated and show up with your best energy.
There are two options: the first is to attend the conference only, either as an individual or with your spouse. The second is to add on a private consulting day with Mike & Mary during the day at Mary's house on April 2, 2020. Spaces are limited to 10 people for that day.
